Benson Fechter for Congress is committed to making our website usable by everyone. We design, build, and maintain this site to be inclusive for people with disabilities and to work well with assistive technologies.
Our standard and conformance goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at the AA level. These international guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of abilities and devices.
What we’re doing
We use semantic HTML, proper headings, labels, and landmarks; meaningful link text; keyboard-navigable components; sufficient color contrast; responsive layouts; and captions/transcripts for multimedia we publish. We test new features against WCAG criteria and fix issues we find.
Compatibility and assistive technology
This site is intended to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) on desktop and mobile. It is designed to be compatible with common assistive technologies, including screen readers (e.g., NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) and magnification, speech-to-text, and switch input tools.
Known limitations and third-party content
Some content on this site may be provided by third parties (for example: donation forms, event ticketing, embedded videos, social media posts, maps, file viewers). While we choose partners that strive for accessibility, we don’t fully control their code. If you encounter an issue within an embedded or external service, please let us know and we’ll provide an accessible alternative.
